They treat players there pretty poorly and seem to rather have an empty table than let a few drunk players have some fun. They act like is your privilege to play at their table. They seem to manage this game like they did back in the 40s and 50s. My biggest problem with the table games is the craps table. So I would stay at the Tropicana, but I wouldn't plan on playing table games there much. It could get a little boring if you're looking for excitement. But just the opposite problem all other times, as the table games don't have a lot of players. Table games are limited, and many of the games only have one table, so you have a tough time sitting there during peak hours (6pm to midnight) on weekends. The slots looked fairly interesting and have a large variety of machines, although I don't play slots much.
Not familiar with the food choices, as I ate at other places (due to comps I had at other casinos). Rooms are reasonably priced, Comps are easier to get than most strip casinos if you play table games and bet around $25 per bet.
This corner of Vegas is one of the best, if not the best on the strip. Its location is great, because it's just across the street (walkway over the road) from MGM, New York New York, and Excalibur. The Tropicana is a nice change of pace from the Huge casinos and hotels on the strip.
